Bunny Succulent Planters

It’s Spring!  I’m ready to put out all my bunnies (remember my all white ones from last year?).  Last week, when I hit a couple thrift stores, I came across these bunny planters.  I knew I needed these is my life. And at just $2 a piece, how could I say no?

At first I thought I’d paint them white to go with my other bunnies.  Then after looking through my spray paint supply, I realized I was all out of white.  I’m so glad I was, because I LOVE these gold and grey bunnies together.

And to keep these vintage bunnies modern and current, I filled them with gorgeous succulents from Grow in Cambria, CA.  Succulents like good drainage and since these little planters don’t have any holes, I made sure to fill them with a good cactus soil mix.  I’m hoping that if I don’t over water them, they’re been fine.

I gave one to my mother in law and sister in law for Easter.  Now I’m got to hit the thrift stores again and find some more for my collection and to give as gifts.

These would be really cute painted pastel colors as well.  I love a good thrift store find, it feels good to reuse something that could possibly end up in a landfill.  And it’s fun to just re-imagine an object.  Have you given any thrift store finds a facelift lately?  I’d love to hear about your projects.

What cute little buns! I LOVE the grey with the gold, what a pretty combination. Did you pick and arrange the succulents yourself? The colors and shapes look so great together. I won't be here for Easter so I'm not doing any decorating, but I did just buy a new plant–a hoya–and had a garden center repot my jade plant. Hurray for spring!

Will you be on your trip to Germany for Easter? Spring is definitely here and I'm so happy. I'm off to find more bunnies.

You gotta love a good can of spray paint. These bunnies are in every thrift store right now. I just found another cute one yesterday for a dollar. I'm thinking metallic copper paint for this one.

It is fun to change up the traditional. I've been on a black and white kick lately, but I thought that was too harsh for Spring. This gold is grey is always a win.

these are so cute. it reminds me of a similar small planter i had that I since have taken to goodwill. it was a small car or truck?, I can't remember, but it held flowers and got it after I had a baby. It would have been so cute spray painted with plants in it. I will be on the look out now. !
